Autumn Meeting

Format: 18 hole Medal
The trophy was donated by Townsends, a local garage in Rushden.  This is part of the Timson Allen Bowl, with the winner playing the winner of the Spring meeting.

Captains' Charity Day

Format: Various
The Captain nominates the format for this competition, with the proceeds of it (and the raffle) going to his nominated charity.

Captains' Day Trophy

Format: Singles Stableford
The trophy was donated by Past Captain Joe Hulatt, and traditionally the Captain himself does not play in this competition.

Captains Charity Trophy

Donated by Tony Brown in 1995 during his year as Captain - this is the year the competition was introduced.

Captains v Vice Captains

Format: of the Captains' choice
This trophy was originally donated by Past Captain Ted Waller and played for as the Vice Captain's Trophy.  In 2001, with the permission of Ted Waller the trophy was changed to the Captains v' Vice Captain's trophy by Past Captain Alan Peacock.

Captains' Weekend (Penn & Simmons Trophy)

Format: Singles Stableford on the Saturday afternoon of the Captains' Weekend away.
The trophy was donated by Past Captain Dick Penn and John Simmons

Captain's Weekend GB Trophy

Format: Fun Award
This awarded to anyone on the weekend who achieves anything with GB - great birdie, good behaviour, gluttonous breakfast, grand breakus.

Coronation Cup

Format: 18 holes Par

Cromer Salvers

Format: 18 hole Four-ball better-ball, High / Low draw
Commemorates the annual weekend away prior to Captains weekend, which always used to take place at Cromer Golf Club.

Daker Cup

Format: 27 holes Medal for middle handicaps (13 – 20)
Trophy donated by Past Captain John Daker to provide a "Club championship" for the middle handicaps.

DentonTwins

Format: Four-ball better-ball match play knockout
The two Denton twins - J.S. and W.H. - both played cricket for Northamptonshire, and were well known local sportsmen and shoe manufacturers.

Diamond Jubilee Trophy

Format: 18 hole scratch match play
The top 16 in the Club Championship qualify to play in the Diamond Jubilee Trophy. The draw is seeded with 1st playing 16th, 2nd playing 15th and so on.  The trophy was originally donated by Past Captain Bryan Barwick and updated by Alan Morton.

Early Bird Cups

Format: 18 hole Four-ball better-ball Stableford (High / Low draw).
The competition is normally played in July, commencing at 05:30 and is always followed by a healthy breakfast !!

Edwards Challenge Trophy

Format: Winners of one of the designated major competitions in the Club from the previous season are invited to play in this event.
Donated in memory of Dave Edwards, club stalwart, in 1996.

EGU Gold Medal

Format: The divisional winner of the Izzard Interclub Team qualifying event also wins the EGU Gold Medal which is presented by the Northants Golf Union.

Frank Peck Trophy

Format: 18 hole Stableford
The winners of the Winter League are invited to play for the Frank Peck Trophy.
Donated by Past president Frank Peck.

Knight Putter

Format: 18 hole Medal
Commemorates R.F. Knight, one of the early pillars of the Club, who was another County cricketer.

Order of Merit - (Introduced 2008)

Format: Best Gross 4 scores from 6 competitions - Spring Meeting, Autumn Meeting, Club Champ, Knight Putter, 1st 18 of Presidents Cup

President's Cup

Format: 27 holes Medal, restricted handicap
A compulsory break must be taken after the first 18 holes.

Rabbits Cup

Format: 18 hole Medal, restricted to higher handicappers (21 - 28)
The Club Championship for those who can only dream of winning it!

Service Tankards

Format: Foursomes match play knock-out
The Tankards were presented after the war by the ex-servicemen of the Club (including Bert Colton, Horace Woodley, Don Walker and Dick Smart).  They raised £60 (£7,680 in 2001 value), spending half on fertilizer for the course, and the remainder on the trophies.

Spring Meeting

Format: 18 hole Medal
This competition is always the start of the competition year with the move back onto the white tees.  The winner plays for the Timson Allen Bowl against the winner of the Autumn Meeting. The trophy was presented to the Club by Trevor Eaton

St Georges Day Trophy

Format: 18 Hole Stableford

Jim Hill Shield

Donated by our past President, Jim Hill, for the best male all rounder. Played over 3 competitions - Medal, Stableford and Bogey/Par

Timson Allen Bowl

Format: Medal match play, winners of Spring and Autumn meetings.
The trophy commemorates Bill Timson and Past Captain Ray Allen, and is played on finals day.

Wetenall Trophy

Format: Singles knock-out
Mr Wetenall was in the diplomatic service, and owned fields in Stanwick where he lived. He would invite Frank Heygate, R. F. Knight, and Ray Kilsby, among others, to play golf on them with him on Saturday mornings.  They travelled there by pony and trap, and Frank Heygate became so enthusiastic that he called a meeting of local businessmen to form Rushden Golf Club. The trophy was named after the man who first provided the idea for starting the Club.
