Course Description
Rushden Golf Course is attractive and challenging, with all the maturity that can be expected from a course that has been played, developed, and carefully kept for over 90 years.
It is a parkland course in a rural setting on the B645 to the east of Rushden and Higham Ferrers. Many of the generous fairways are guarded by trees, and good use is made of fairway bunkers often in play when the ridge and furrow of some of the fairways takes its toll! The greens, which are generally in play throughout the year, are small and firm, but very true, and, during the competition season, quite fast. The course is crossed by a small stream which comes into play on 7 of the holes.
The current 18 holes of the course are made up from 10 greens and 15 different tee positions, so there is no feeling of playing the same nine twice. The card for the course is displayed to the right. Recently Club Members have committed themselves to developing a further 9 holes on adjacent land to bring the course up to a full 18 holes. This development, which has already been professionally designed, will begin as soon as the necessary consents, legal formalities, and finances have been put in place.
Rushden is one of those rare courses that offers a serious challenge to the scratch golfer, and at the same time, a pleasant and enjoyable experience for the club golfer - whatever their handicap.
